About the Role

Neonatal Network Assistant Project Manager

12 month fixed term contract predominantly home working

An exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated assistant project manager has arisen within the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (EMNODN). This post will support the Network project manager with neonatal data management and other project action plans across teams in the East Midlands.

The successful candidate will work alongside the EMNODN team, playing a crucial role in supporting the network workstreams by providing highly efficient, professional and confidential assistance to produce a range of data and project management tasks to help facilitate the implementation of neonatal specific key deliverables within the network programme. They will assist in the validation, production and presentation of quality, activity and workforce data using complex data sets, which requires high levels of concentration and accuracy.

The role will appeal to an Individual with an aptitude for attention to detail. As an individual, and as part of the EMNODN team, you will champion projects to support safe and effective care to neonates and their families.

The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to provide highly efficient, professional, and confidential assistance and support to the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (EMNODN) team. They will support and assist the Project Manager and the wider Network team in the planning and delivery of the strategic objectives, specifically focusing on data and projects in support of the Network work plan.

The successful candidate will assist in the validation, production and presentation of quality, activity and workforce data using complex data sets, which requires high levels of concentration and accuracy. They will support the planning, implementation, and review of Network-related projects and programmes; ensure that tasks are focused, timely, and of a high standard; and resolve queries and provide updates as required.

The role will appeal to an individual with an aptitude for attention to detail, with a systematic, data-driven approach, and a positive, pragmatic and creative outlook. They will enjoy working with a broad range of staff across the network team and other stakeholders and organisations, both local and national.

Main Duties

Data Management

  • Input onto existing tracking systems, sometimes extracting from multiple sources, ensuring that data is accurate and relevant.
  • Ensure appropriate confidentiality of records and information (verbal, written and computerised).
  • Provide support to the ODN team and regional stakeholders with enquiries on data dashboards and other key data and project information.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data dashboards to enable services to have access to consistent, relevant and clear information.
  • Advise on and undertake data analysis/manipulation which may have implications to the quality of services, ensuring outputs are meaningful.
  • Utilise available systems to identify, analyse and manipulate relevant national data to inform projects to highlight regional implications for services.
  • Communicate with regional and national data teams, assist with gathering and presenting complex data and ensuring ODN teams/stakeholders are kept informed about the relevant data.
  • Assist in the gathering of data to monitor the impact of projects, support audit, benchmarking and research.
  • Assist in the collation and presentation of data/monitoring reports to the Network Board and other committees and groups as appropriate.
  • To continually review, streamline and update processes for recording data, in order to improve data quality within the service. To take part in decision-making and influence change and contribute to and participate in review of systems and procedures.

Project Management

  • Work with stakeholders to define, maintain and interpret a core dataset to be collected for projects.
  • Assist in the collection of monitoring information from the work streams, and the implementation of the model for improvement methodology.
  • Assist in the production of regular project reports, analyzing progress on the projects for dissemination to all stakeholders.
  • Suggest changes in conjunction with working groups which may have implications for service performance and quality.
  • Assist in the development, delivery, and coordination of multiple network projects and programmes, providing project support and a hands-on approach to achieve successful implementation.
  • Participate in collaborative contact networks, communication strategies, discussion forums and targeted work streams in order to facilitate the development, implementation and enhancement of workplans.
  • Support network team members and stakeholders with projects, supporting and planning work and motivating the staff assigned to or directly involved with the project team.
  • Ensure teams consider collaboration with families and parent partners to support co-design and co-production.
  • Maintain communication channels between all stakeholders: organize meetings, chase responses, send minutes, updates, alerts, and programme information to all stakeholders, ensuring clear responsibilities, priorities and timelines.
  • Ensure delivery of a consistently high standard of service to all members of the programme, dealing with queries relating to the projects.
  • Input into systems for collating and managing all work plan project documents, ensuring they are effective, timely and accurate.
  • Appropriately deal with emails, telephone calls or other communication, prioritizing urgent work and escalating appropriately.
  • Proactively problem-solve and negotiate where issues arise in the development and implementation of the projects.
  • Act as a positive role model and motivator to support staff in the planning, implementation and measurement of improvement projects.
  • Responsible for liaising with administrative or other staff appropriate to these projects.
  • Contribute to the team newsletter, and to maintenance of the team pages on the Network website.
