Caritas Diocese of Salford is seeking Bank Activities and Support Workers to join the team across various sites in the Diocese of Salford. This flexible role offers morning, evening, night and weekend shifts, providing the opportunity to make a real impact in people’s lives. The ideal candidate will have experience running activities and supporting people who are homeless, vulnerable or from disadvantaged groups within a residential or similar setting. Strong IT and administrative skills, alongside a positive, team-focused attitude, are essential.

Support shifts:

  • Nights: 20:45pm – 9:15am
  • Evenings: 16:45pm to 21:15pm
  • Weekends: 8:45am to 21:15pm

Activity Shifts:

  • Monday to Friday mornings between 9am – 2pm
  • Saturday and Sundays: 4-hour afternoon shifts

About the job

We are advertising for Bank Activities and Support Workers to work a variety of shifts across our homelessness day centres and accommodation projects across Manchester and Bury. You will provide a friendly and professional welcome to people coming in and out of our services, as well as spending time with people in the communal areas and cafes.

During Activity Shifts you will deliver education, training and run positive recreational activities aimed at enabling people to connect, be active, learn and/or have fun, for example working in our internet café, or running cookery sessions, games or art and craft sessions. Shifts are between 9am – 2pm on Monday to Friday or on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon for 4 hours.

During Support Shifts you will be responsible for doing building checks, dealing with emergencies, answering telephone calls, monitoring CCTV and undertaking minor domestic tasks. Shifts are evenings, 16:45pm – 21:15pm, nights, 20:45pm – 9:15am and weekends 8:45am – 21:15pm.

Experience of running activities and working with people that are homeless and may be vulnerable, or disadvantaged groups in a residential/similar setting is essential. You will also have good IT and admin skills and a positive approach to team working.
