Role Overview
As a Bank Carer with Unipuler, you will join our flexible staffing pool and be offered shifts based on your availability. You will work in various care environments—such as residential care homes, nursing homes, supported living settings, or domiciliary care—depending on client requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility and wants to pick up shifts without long-term commitment to fixed schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care: washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support.
- Assist with mobility, repositioning and transfers using approved equipment (hoists, slide sheets, wheelchairs).
- Support with meals, hydration, and nutrition.
- Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support.
- Carry out domestic support tasks when required (light cleaning, laundry, meal preparation).
- Prompt or administer medication in line with care plans and training (setting dependent).
- Accurately document care provided, including any observations or changes in condition.
- Follow each placement’s care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and workplace policies.
- Uphold confidentiality, dignity, and respect for all service users.
- Maintain professional boundaries and a caring attitude at all times.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals.
- Caring, patient, and respectful.
- Willing to work varied shifts—including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays (based on your availability).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or hold one on the Update Service).
- Reliability and punctuality.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Carer / HCA / Support Worker.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience in elderly care, dementia care, learning disabilities, or mental health.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (for community roles).
