Bookkeeper | Ultimate Yachts | Remote | £25,000 per annum

Ultimate Yachts is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join its remote finance team. This full-time role offers flexibility and the chance to work within the luxury travel and yachting industry.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of bookkeeping experience, strong proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, and excellent skills in Excel and financial reporting. You’ll manage day-to-day accounts, VAT returns, reconciliations, and financial reports while maintaining accuracy and compliance across all records.

Applicants should have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. AAT or equivalent qualification is preferred.

Summary

We’re a small, growing luxury travel company looking for a skilled and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team full-time.

This is a remote role based in the UK (South West England preferred), working closely with our UK & Indonesia-based operations team to manage and strengthen the financial systems behind our unforgettable travel experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reports for the leadership team
  • Oversee VAT returns and liaise with HMRC
  • Support year-end reporting for external accountants
  • Track cash flow, budgets, and supplier payments
  • Liaise with the Indonesia-based operations and sales teams to monitor trip performance and cost allocations
  • Streamline and improve financial SOPs and reporting systems to enhance ease, efficiency, and transparency
  • Implement and manage new tools or automations (e.g. expense tracking, reporting dashboards, shared systems) to strengthen financial operations
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial records

What We’re Looking For

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent) – ICB or ACCA part-qualified also welcome
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in the travel, hospitality, or service industry
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication
  • Experience or interest in optimising systems and tools for smoother workflows
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • UK resident, ideally based in South West England (e.g. Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Plymouth, Cornwall, Dorset)
  • Bonus: Familiarity with TOMS VAT or travel industry accounting
