About the Opportunity

We are looking for an individual to join our team in Bristol or Cardiff, to supporting ICT infrastructure design activities for a UK defence project. You will act as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders, translating complex business needs into requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Requirements Elicitation. Conduct workshops, interviews, and use other techniques to gather, analyse, and validate business requirements.
  • Documentation & Analysis. Translate complex business needs into clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation, including functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, process flows (As-Is and To-Be), and data models.
  • Stakeholder Management. Build and maintain strong relationships with business users, project managers, developers, testers, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and expectation management.
  • Solution Design & Validation. Collaborate with our technical team and client stakeholders to design optimal solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and are technically feasible. Participate in solution validation and acceptance.
  • Process Improvement. Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements that leverage technology and best practices.
  • Scope Management. Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, managing changes effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitation. Lead and facilitate meetings, discussions, and workshops to drive consensus and progress.

Here’s What You’ll Need 

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Defence.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
  • Expertise in requirements gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, prototyping, surveys).
  • Proficiency in documenting requirements using a wide range of tools.
  • Ability to create clear and professional documentation, including process maps, use cases, user stories, and data flow diagrams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice-versa.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
  • Customers/sectors: Experience working within the UK MOD
  • Multiple years experience working on Defence projects
