Business Analyst – Full-Time or Part-Time | Remote

Energy Saving Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join its growing team. This Scotland-based position offers flexible working options: home-based, blended, or fully office-based from the Edinburgh office. The role is available on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) or part-time (minimum 16 hours).

The ideal candidate will have proven business analysis skills, with the ability to investigate, analyse, visualise, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, as the role involves working collaboratively across teams and supporting impactful decision-making.

Salary: £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Salary: £45,000 (depending on experience) Part-time or job share salary would be calculated pro rata.

The team

The digital delivery team is crucial to our operations, bridging the gap between user needs and technological solutions. This dynamic team plays a pivotal role within Energy Saving Trust, working closely with our product teams to understand both business and user requirements. The role   

You’ll lead the approach in identifying and exploring opportunities for services and business improvement, and you’ll drive analysis to prioritise and implement enhancements. This includes conducting gap analysis to identify requirements and recommend technologies to address service needs, as well as translating requirements into functional specification documentation.

You’ll be responsible for writing user stories and acceptance criteria based on evidence, and supporting the product manager in developing the product roadmap- setting the vision, direction, priorities, and progress. You’ll develop a thorough understanding of user and business needs through comprehensive analysis and documentation.

Additionally, you’ll identify and support the implementation of process improvements that lead to measurable efficiency gains. You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.

You’ll contribute to the team culture, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment where all members feel valued and motivated, and you’ll actively share knowledge and best practices with the team to enhance overall performance.

What you’ll do 

  • Understand user and business needs, translating them into requirements that align with the product roadmap and lead to key developments and improvements.
  • Ensure that the product development is aligned with both user expectations and business objectives.
  • Support the team in translating requirements into actionable insights and innovative features.
  • Work with stakeholders to drive service success, enhancing user satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What you’ll bring 

  • BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent experience.
  • Business analysis skills with the ability to investigate, analyse, visualise, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clients/users to translate their requirements into product features.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including strong facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and able to apply an agile mindset.
