Business Analyst – Lifetime Group (Home based working)

Skilltech Solutions, part of the Lifetime Group is an EdTech provider with a flagship product focussed on streamlining the end-point assessment process.

Position: Business Analyst           

Job Type: Full time/Part-time

Salary: £37,000 – £47,000 Annual

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Remote, Home based (with travel)

What will you be doing?

  • Facilitate Agile and rapid releases of functionality benefitting the business.  
  • ​Effectively manage multiple priorities with appropriate planning and communication
  • ​Help shape and guide business thinking by constructively challenging assumptions and contributing insights. 
  • ​Comfortable working autonomously or collaboratively, with support as needed, to lead on concept development and implementation
  • ​Inform and maintain product roadmap. 
  • ​Supporting Business Case development to inform decision making on whether to proceed to project start up. 

Business Analysis & Requirements Capture: 

  • ​Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and ensure root cause business problems are identified. 
  • ​Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders (and external when required) to analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver the documentation as needed: User Stories, Requirements Documents, Project Briefs, GUI, Screen and Interface designs. 
  • ​Evaluate, define and prioritise high level business requirements. 
  • ​Facilitate the definition of, and gains agreement for the, requirements, subsequent analysis of change requests and approval. 
  • ​Work collaboratively with clients to further refine the agreed business requirements 
  • ​Produce requirements fit for the Agile teams to work from.  This may consist of user stories, and/or Business Requirements Spec. 
  • ​Ensure full business engagement in the Agile development process. 
  • ​Supporting Testing and User Acceptance Testing. 

​Business Process:  

  • ​Leads and delivers analysis projects for business process improvement, or other feasibility projects as requested. 
  • ​Identify the need for new & amended business processes. 
  • ​Identify the need for changes to organisation structures, role profiles, skills required and staff headcount requirements. 
  • ​Ensure all actions to successfully launch the change into the business & make it ‘stick’ are identified and implemented e.g. training/comms.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Strong Business Analyst experience, on Agile projects. 
  • ​Experience writing user stories, refining backlogs and participating in sprint planning and retrospectives. 
  • ​Business orientated with a technical background 
  • ​Knowledge and experience of one or more Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.  
  • ​Experience in the use of Agile project management software and producing Roadmaps 
  • ​Experience working closely with Software Teams 
  • ​Technical knowledge of software development methodologies 
  • ​Has delivered scope definition & requirements management (elicitation, analysis, documentation) on Agile projects 
  • ​Has utilised business analysis methods, tools and techniques 
  • ​Able to effectively lead and facilitate requirements-gathering workshops and stakeholder interviews
  • ​Evidence of ensuring that change initiatives ‘stick’. 
  • ​Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, clients, managers, and subject matter experts. 
  • ​Working with an organisation that utilises an agile software development methodology & implementation planning tools

It would be great if you had

  • ​Experience of working on strategic change projects within a training delivery organisation. 
  • Knowledge of government funded apprenticeships or end-point assessment 
  • ​Formal qualification or equivalent experience in IT, business analysis or a related field
  • ​Professional qualification e.g. ISEB ,CCBA, CBAP, APM, MSP 
  • ​Agile training
