Care and Support Worker – L’Arche Manchester (Full-Time or Part-Time)

L’Arche Manchester is seeking compassionate and dedicated Care and Support Workers to join the team. Based in Manchester, this rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities by providing high-quality care, practical support, and companionship in both full-time and part-time positions.

This role is ideal for individuals who are caring, patient, and committed to person-centred support. Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as full training will be provided. About the Role

Reports to: House Leader

Hours of work: Full-time or part-time.

Salary: Start rate of £12.21 per hour, rising after 12 months and a successful probation period, + sleepover allowance

Place of work: L’Arche Manchester

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time or part-time

Main purpose of the role:

  • As a Care and Support Worker, you will support people with learning disabilities living in a variety of settings, in line with agreed support and care plans, in all aspects of their everyday lives.
  • You will deliver practical, physical and emotional support to people with learning disabilities, whilst proactively promoting choice, independence and self-determination.

The responsibilities will be split:

  • 80% Supporting people with learning disabilities with day to day life;
  • 10% Using a digital system to record what you do during your shift;
  • 10% Learning & Development and regular meetings with your line manager;
