About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in South Shields. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in a home care or care home setting. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of our clients. A valid driving licence is preferred to assist with transportation needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Follow individual care plans to ensure personalised support is delivered effectively.
- Communicate regularly with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on client progress and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Support clients in social activities and encourage engagement with their community.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with team members effectively.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting clients when necessary.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need.
