About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, including those with varying levels of ability and health conditions. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the assistance they require in a respectful and dignified manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Assist clients with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of client care and progress, reporting any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Support clients with dementia care, ensuring they feel secure and understood.
  • Engage in activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation for clients in assisted living or hospice care settings.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in home care, senior care, or patient care is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
  • Skills in behaviour management are beneficial for supporting clients effectively.
  • A background in childcare or nursing may be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
  • A caring attitude towards individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying needs.
