Care Support Worker – Supported Living

Location: Wandsworth and Kingston

Hours: Full and part-time roles are available

Shifts: Day and Waking Night shifts are available

At Curans Care we support adults with autism, learning disabilities, and other complex needs to live their lives to the fullest within the comfort of their own homes. We pride ourselves on taking a personalised approach to caring for each individual, with core values of compassion, dignity, respect, promotion of autonomy, and excellent working relationships between our service users and our incredible staffing team.

Tasks include but are not limited to supporting our service users with:

  • Personal Care
  • Management of their homes, including cleaning and cooking
  • Effective budgeting, meal planning and shopping
  • Encouragement for accessing the community, exercising, seeing family/peers, organising/partaking in activities of their choice
  • Emotional support, forming a bond of trust and respect. Raising any concerns with management such that they can be addressed as promptly as possible
  • Assisting with booking/attending and medical appointments or in making referrals to specialist services
  • Keeping thorough and detailed notes and contribution to person-cantered care planning and risk-assessments

  • Strong communication skills and a good level of both written and spoken English
  • A positive working attitude and team player
  • Enthusiasm for ongoing personal learning and development and commitment to our training programme
  • A reliable and punctual team member – the support we provide is essential so it is imperative our service users can rely on their support staff
  • Previous work experience as a support worker or within the care industry is preferred but not essential as we provide a robust training programme.
