About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in home care settings. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, including behaviour management and medication administration, while ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care to clients, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, shopping, domestic and mobility support, among others.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in accordance with preset care plans to support clients with challenging behaviours.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Engage clients in social activities, where necessary, to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Assist with heavy lifting when required, ensuring proper techniques are used for the safety of both the resident and caregiver.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Strong skills in patient care and behaviour management are essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
