You don’t need any previous experience to become a Support Worker with Sense. We’ll give you full training to become an excellent Support Worker.

We are looking for Support Workers to join our amazing Children’s Community Service, the Get Out There Group (GOT Group) Saturday morning club located in Wythenshawe, Manchester covering M22 and M23 area. These are all community based roles – one in Gorton, Manchester and two in Flixton, Trafford.

The ‘Get Out There’ Clubs provides valuable support for children and young people who still live at home with their families. We work to promote communication skills, life skills, mobility, and access to the community. This will include assisting participation in various activities such as bowling, going to the cinema, parks, supporting with personal care, promoting independence both at home and in the community, providing short periods of respite for families and carers.

These are part time contract working from 4 hours per week to suit you. The service provides support on the weekends with occasional evenings too,

We are offering you an hourly rate from £12.50

Requirements

We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who are:

  • Positive, with a can-do attitude
  • Caring and empathetic
  • Passionate about enhancing other people’s lives
  • Willing to attend training as needed to support you in your role
  • Knowledge of multi-sensory impairments / learning difficulties is desirable.
  • British Sign Language skills desirable but not essential
  • Have a Valid UK driving license is desirable and use of your own vehicle is necessary for this role.

Main Duties

No two days will be the same

This role in GOT Manchester might include supporting young people with:

  • Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning
  • Taking part in fun activities such as football, dance, bowling, messy play, water play etc
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Going into the community for shopping or other trips
  • Their social life
