The Radiotherapy Department at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity as a Radiotherapy Clinical Support Worker for a customer focussed, friendly and enthusiastic individual, as part of our expanding service.

Main Duties
- Support the clinical delivery of Radiotherapy treatment, by giving patient-related and administrative support to the Radiographers.
- To request patient notes, x-rays (diagnostic and any previous radiotherapy planning films), treatment sheets, blood results and other CT scanner relevant documentation for CT and mould room appointments so that all information is available at the time of planning.
- To complete all necessary paperwork for the start of the planning process, including patient information leaflets, immobilisation forms and treatment sheets.
- To liaise with the Mould Room/Medical Physics /CT Scanner staff to ensure all aspects of the patient referral are addressed.
- To communicate with patients regarding upcoming mould room/CT appointments whilst being empathetic and sensitive to their needs.
- Prepare and administer oral contrast prior to Radiotherapy CT scans.
- Prepare IV contrast for pump injection.
- Complete departmental documentation both written and electronically.
- Use computer systems (including trust wide administration systems) to collect patient information and appointment information.
- Participate in department projects, including audit and quality initiatives pertinent to the role.

Qualifications / training required (Essential)
- NVQ 3 in Healthcare, with acute units corresponding to speciality (or equivalent)
- Good verbal and written literacy and numeracy skills, demonstrable to GCSE (or equivalent standard)
- Good keyboard skills and computer literacy skills
- ECDL or equivalent computer training
Desirable
- Knowledge of spreadsheets eg MS Excel
- Care certificate completion
- Education to A level
Previous or relevant experience necessary (Essential)
- Experience in customer service/ working with the public
- Understanding of acute hospital environment
- Proven experience in a caring role

- Previous hospital or health service experience
