About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Clinical Support Workers to work at Bexhill Irvine Unit. A minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths and NVQ2 in health and social care or the equivalent experience is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • As a vital member of the care team, you will support Registered Practitioners in the delivery of routine patient care. You will undertake a broad range of care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner.
  • You will be required to work flexibly which will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays
  • The post holder will need to attend a period of induction and training before commencing in the role.

Person Specifications

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths
  • Care Certificate

Desirable

  • 5 GCSE grade 4 or C and above or equivalent
  • Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
  • Education and training to NVQ level 3/Work based diploma or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 6 Months current experience in Health or Social Care Environment delivering personal care

Desirable

  • Three months (within the last two years) experience of working in NHS

Knowledge/Skills

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate a clear desire to work in NHS and a clear understanding of the role of a HCA
  • Ability to work under instruction from a Registered Practitioner with direct supervision and support
