Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Community Support Assistant to provide essential support to individuals living in the community. This role is being recruited in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, due to the personal care needs and preferences of the people we support, who are female.
The successful candidate will have experience in community-based or outreach care, a genuine passion for supporting others, and the ability to promote dignity, independence, and well-being. You will assist individuals with daily living activities, accessing the community, medication support, and providing both physical and emotional assistance in line with person-centred support plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming, and continence support.
- Support with meal preparation and ensuring dietary preferences are respected.
- Prompt and/or administer medication as per agreed care plans.
- Support individuals to safely access their community, attend appointments, and engage in meaningful activities.
- Encourage independence and confidence while ensuring safety and dignity are maintained.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene within clients’ home environments.
- Record accurate notes and report any changes in well-being or circumstances promptly.
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with clients and their families.
- Travel between client visits in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
Requirements
- Previous experience in community care, outreach work, or domiciliary support is highly desirable.
- Confident and competent in delivering personal and practical care.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centred care principles.
- Basic knowledge of medication handling and first aid.
- Excellent communication skills and a supportive, empathetic approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
