Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Credit Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with proficiency in Xero. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organisation while contributing to a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Daily invoicing of customer orders
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Ensure that customers pay on time and regularly chase outstanding monies due
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, audits and ISO preparation
  • Utilise accounting software Xero for data entry and reporting
  • Use Xero to provide quotations for customers, as requested
  • Respond to inquiries from management regarding financial matters
  • Check monthly commissions and expenses for Sales Consultants

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper/Credit Controller or in a similar role within an accounting environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) is essential
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A relevant qualification in finance or accounting is preferred but not mandatory
