About the Role
This role will involve providing technical support and leadership to leverage best practices for insights, analytics, and reporting. You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with multiple decision makers in the business and support them via actionable insights & reporting.
The role will be at the forefront of our data-driven journey. The role will support on the reporting transformation from the legacy systems to a robust, scalable, and future-fit tech stack, to support CVS in placing data at the core of our decision-making.
You will be the expert in data visualisation and designing effective data models to support analytics across multiple functions of the business.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- The post holder will support business analysis and clinical research, under the direction of the Director of Clinical Research.
- Work with a range of business stakeholders and colleagues to understand data requirements and deliver innovative solutions aligned to our evolving strategy and objectives (across clinical leadership, finance, marketing, operations).
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data processing for data visualisation and advanced analytics. Collaborate and contribute to designing and maintaining effective data models to support analytics and reporting.
- Develop and manage scalable, automated transformation and analysis workflows.
- Design and implement effective data models for our data warehouse, to support analysis and decision-making
- Be an expert in leveraging our data and technology to deliver solutions, through the adoption of Azure components, SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric and BI tools, and by recommending and implementing future capabilities for enhanced analysis.
- Extensive working experience with data lakes and data warehouses, delivering data products
- Establish the relationship between clinical and commercial considerations to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Provide credible reporting & analysis on various business initiatives to establish the measure of success. Able to effectively summarize the findings & tell the story through data, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
- Technical support to answer business questions and monitor trials using data analytics and produce clear insights with actionable recommendations.
- Develop and deploy accessible resources for data management and statistical analysis.
- An advocate for the development of analytical approaches and the adoption of new techniques, including data science, machine learning and AI
Key Skills Required:
Technical skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Extensive working experience with data lakes and data warehouses, cloud-based systems (e.g. SQL server, Azure).
- Proven experience of delivering data products through pipeline development and maintenance.
- Strong background in data modelling and reporting; Proven analytical and dashboarding experience.
- Experience of Microsoft focused data visualisation tools/systems such as Power BI and Fabric.
- Expertise in technical scripting, data querying languages and/or statistical software (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Spark Notebooks) and experience implementing best practices, guidance, and standards.
- Ability to interpret and understand data: Able to analyse a wide range of information and data with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Driven to develop new skills: aptitude to learn new software and systems and critical thinking to provide recommendations.
- Experience of working with veterinary or healthcare data is desirable.
- Some familiarly with unsupervised text mining, MLOps, Large Language Models or generative AI is desirable.

- Good organisational skills: with experience managing multiple projects, able to develop and manage project plans, meet deadlines and reprioritise based on business needs
- Ability to build strong business relationships with multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership. A team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Motivated and resourceful: Ability to problem solve and be a self-starter. Motivated, well-organised and ability to work on own initiative.
- Presentation & Communication skills: ability to effectively tell the story through data & visualisations.
- Proven ability to record and document clear, accurate information
