Position: Data Operations Management Officer

Salary: £46148 to £52,809 a year (exclusive of London weighting)

About the Role

Within Data and Analytics our vision is to be the leading data services provider for health and social care across England through creating innovative and high-quality data products and services that give our customers the knowledge and capabilities required to deliver the best outcomes for citizens.

We are recruiting a Data Operations Management Officer to work within the Data Design Service. The postholder will work predominantly within the NHS Data Model and Dictionary Service, which provides the development, maintenance and support of NHS Information Standards. This involves working within a small team to manage releases of the NHS Data Model and Dictionary. It also involves communicating updates regarding Information Standards Notices and Data Dictionary Change Notices to the wider NHS.

Essential experience required

SME experience Evidence of knowledge over a number of Data Operations disciplines, e.g. of data set / data collection / data quality improvement / data operational development principles

Teamwork Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary organisation/team, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration

System understanding Knowledge of information systems and data flows used within the health and social care system

Technical Writing Experience of managing and maintaining technical documentation, such as specifications or guidance

Communication Substantial experience of communicating complex, technical and/or information governance concepts and issues to non-technical colleagues, customers and stakeholders at all levels

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.
