While previous experience in a care home or domiciliary care setting is advantageous, it is not essential. A good command of English is required to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, along with the ability to follow care plans accurately.

About the Role

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in home care settings. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between clients’ homes.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Support clients in following their individual care plans, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Engage in regular communication with families and other healthcare providers regarding client care.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • A good command of English is necessary for effective communication with clients and team members.
  • Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is important.
  • Strong IT skills are beneficial for maintaining records and using electronic systems.
