About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in home care settings. Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with daily living activities while ensuring their comfort and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of care plans, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Main Duties

  • Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and any changes in condition.
  • Document patient progress and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving patients to appointments when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively.
  • Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
  • A valid driving licence is needed and a personal car is needed for commuting to clients
  • A genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the needs of the service.
