Are you someone who enjoys helping others, bringing positivity to their day, and has a good sense of humour? We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to support our client with quadriplegia with day-to-day tasks.

The role will be assisting with cooking and meal preparation and support with eating and drinking, cleaning and general household duties, and supporting with transportation to appointments and outings. There will also be a requirement to support with a range of clinical tasks such as CPAP, continence care, and bowel management routine alongside general personal care needs.

The ideal candidate will offer a friendly and caring presence, with a good sense of humor to brighten their day. It is a huge advantage if you have an interest in football, particularly Coventry or live music! Flexibility in hours is essential to cover various shifts as needed. Previous experience in a care setting is also a plus, however a positive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are key qualities we’re seeking.

A car driver is preferred due to supporting out client to attend appointments and getting out and about in the local community

Here at Salvere Support we support individual clients in their own homes. Our small teams of Personal Assistants provide bespoke, person centered care to really make a difference in our clients lives. You’ll only be working with one client which enables you to truly get to know them and make a meaningful difference each day.

The hours: 22.5 average hours per week (days) to be worked on the following shift pattern:

Week 1:Total: 24 hours

Monday- 8:30am-10:30am + 1:30pm-10:30pm

Wednesday- 1:30pm-2:30pm

Thursday- 1:30pm-2:30pm

Friday- 8:30am-10:30am + 1:30pm-10:30pm

Week 2: Total: 21 hours

Tuesday- 1:30pm-2:30pm

Wednesday- 1:30pm-2:30pm

Friday- 1:30pm-2:30pm + 5pm-6pm

Saturday- 8:30am-10:30am + 1:30pm-10:30pm

Sunday- 8:30am-2:30pm

Flexibility to cover shifts when needed within the team is essential

Rate of Pay: £13.85 per hour

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for:

You must be self motivated, well organised, chatty, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with:

  • Personal care, support to manage incontinence, and measures to maintain a good skin state.
  • Bowel routine management
  • Medication administration
  • Moving and Handling (including hoisting and position changes).
  • Domestic duties (Laundry, cleaning, cooking nutritious meals).
  • Monitoring of general health and well being, and daily record keeping.
  • Proving support around meal times due to the clients dysphagia
  • Support to travel to, and participate in social activities and attend appointment

You should also have:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
  • A DBS on the update service is an advantage
