We are seeking a Rehabilitation Support Worker to provide an exceptional service for our client in Moss Side. This is a rewarding opportunity to be a part of our clients rehabilitation journey and support our client to achieve as much independence as possible. You will be working closely within a team helping to ensure that a continuity of care is provided to our clients.
We recognise the hard work, flexibility and commitment of our people so we offer a wide range of employee benefits, such as a thorough induction programme, on-going training to develop new and existing skills and a great employee Rewards scheme, where you will be able to receive a variety of discounts from major retailers.
About The Role
We are looking for a kind, proactive, and patient female Rehabilitation Support Worker to join the team supporting a 33-year-old woman with an acquired brain injury (ABI). This is a rewarding role where you’ll be making a meaningful difference in her day-to-day life, supporting her to maintain independence while also helping her manage a busy family home.
The client lives in her own three-bedroom home with her children and family dogs. She is independent with personal care, mobile, and able to communicate verbally, but benefits from prompting and support with daily living tasks such as household duties, shopping, and maintaining routines. She is a hands-on mum, so part of the role includes supporting her with the morning school run for her children.
She enjoys being creative and spending time cooking and baking, so someone who shares or encourages these interests would be a great fit. There are no behavioural challenges, and she presents as a friendly and engaging individual who responds well to a calm, supportive approach. She also has ongoing input from Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Psychology to help guide a consistent and person-centred support plan.
Support workers will be required to access the community with the client, so a full UK driving licence with business insurance and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.
A typical shift will involve supporting with the morning routine and school drop-off, followed by assistance with daily tasks such as cleaning, shopping, or attending activities of her choice. Longer shifts provide the opportunity to support her with more flexible activities and time in the community. During school holidays, there may be some adjustments to start times to reflect changes in routine.
Your main attributes will be friendly, approachable and have empathy towards your client treating them with respect and dignity at all times. We support vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, by building their confidence and skills to realise their potential.
