PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,300 to £35,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To play a key role in delivering an efficient, high‑impact pension finance service to the Trustees, while championing continuous growth in knowledge, productivity, and overall excellence.

This role offers the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of accounting, payroll, and Excel‑based activities. You’ll help organise payments, capture and process transactions, carry out reconciliations, and prepare insightful reports — all contributing to a smooth, accurate, and energised finance operation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Overseeing receipt and allocation of contributions (£50m a year) with related cash reconciliations and variance analyses
  • Complete timely and accurate bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and resolved.
  • Preparation of invoice payment runs;
  • Assist the investment accountants in preparation of routine reporting
  • Manage and monitor all bounced back payments, investigating root causes, liaising with internal teams, and ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Serve as a secondary payroll contact, able to perform essential payroll duties when required to maintain smooth operations during team absences.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • An understanding of internal control protocols, including finance related segregation of duties within a complex organization
  • Experience of working in a finance/finance administration department
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to deal with tasks and enquires in an efficient and systematic way, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, even when working to tight deadlines.
  • An understanding of the importance of timely information and reporting without compromising quality.
  • Flexible and pragmatic approach to supporting the wider operational environment
