Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to residents in care homes or individuals receiving home care services. This role involves assisting with daily activities, supporting care plans, and ensuring the wellbeing of those under your care. Duties

  • Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
  • Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each person’s needs
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies
  • Assist with light domestic duties to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Support with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Drive residents or clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving transportation of residents or clients
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and colleagues
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
  • Ability to work flexibly, demonstrating organisation and reliability in a fast-paced environment
