Position: Health Care Assistant

Salary: From £12.09 an hour

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Hexham, UK

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community team in delivering exceptional care to patients in the community around Hexham, Corbridge, Riding Mill and surrounding areas. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our service users with their daily care needs. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our service users receive the best possible care in their own homes.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A HOMECARE ROLE, you will be working with different service users in their own homes.

Main Duties

  • Assist service users with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Help service users with mobility and transfers.
  • Monitor and report any changes in service users’ physical or mental health status. • Provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Assist with meal delivery and feeding for service users as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of service users’ care plans and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure that service users receive high-quality care

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role at least 6 months.
  • Full Driving License
  • Access to own car beneficial
  • A caring and compassionate nature.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo training and develop new skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
