Position: Health Care Assistant

Salary: £12.82 per hour

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Southampton

Duties

  • Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Help with mobility and manual handling, including moving and repositioning patients safely. Support patients during meal times, including feeding and monitoring dietary intake.
  • Measure and record vital signs like temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rate.
  • Observe patients and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff. Assist nurses and doctors with basic clinical procedures under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and clinical areas; change bed linen and restock supplies.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting dignity and respect.
  • Ensure proper infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Accurately document care provided in records or care plans.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.
