About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in both home care and care home settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires effective communication skills in English, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive to various locations as needed to provide home care services.
- Follow care plans meticulously to meet individual patient needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
- Support patients in social activities to enhance their quality of life within the care home or home environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a similar healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving home visits.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans is an advantage.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication are required.
