About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a variety of settings, including home care and care homes. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of patients, and contributing to the development and implementation of care plans. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Support patients in maintaining their personal hygiene and overall wellbeing.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care.
  • Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress in accordance with care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement individualised care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Ensure that all equipment is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
  • Ability to drive and hold a valid driving licence for transportation purposes.
  • Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes.
  • Experience in home care or working within a care home environment is advantageous.
  • Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
  • Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others improve their quality of life.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively within a busy environment.
