Birmingham Hospice is seeking compassionate and committed Health Care Assistants to join the Inpatient Unit in Selly Park. We are seeking caring, compassionate, and committed Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to join our In-Patient Unit team at Erdington Hospice.
As an HCA, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering hands-on, high-quality palliative and end-of-life care. You’ll ensure a safe environment for patients and families while being sensitive to their spiritual, psychological, and social needs.
What we’re looking for
- A Level 2 NVQ in Health or Social Care is highly desirable. If you are currently working towards this qualification or can demonstrate a strong commitment to completing it while employed, we would love to hear from you. Please make sure this is clearly highlighted in your application.
- Passion for Care: A genuine enthusiasm for delivering exceptional palliative and end-of-life care, with compassion and dignity at the heart of everything you do.
- Experience: Previous hands-on experience in a healthcare or similar care setting, showcasing your ability to provide safe, person-centered support.
- Competent in English and Maths (GCSE level or equivalent)
- Ability to work flexibly across a 7-day rota and occasional multi-site locations
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a team player
- Basic IT skills (databases, email, Word)
