Position: Healthcare Assistant
Salary: £24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum (pro rata for part time)

About the Role
The Integrated respiratory service has an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 administrator/ support role to join the integrated Respiratory team in supporting the Hospital @ home service pathway The post is a permanent post, where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the clinical team with administrative duties, whilst working as part of the busy respiratory service
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic healthcare assistant to join our integrated respiratory service to support patients at home ,you may also be expected to support the clinical team in the hospital setting
You will be part of the team composed of physio, respiratory specialist nurse, a health care assistant, and administrative staff. The team covers the whole or bucks county and provided services which include pulmonary rehab, home oxygen
A valid driving license is essential for this role as the post holder will be required to travel within Buckinghamshire
Main Duties
- To provide an administrative and clerical service to facilitate the smooth running of the Hospital @ home service
- To assist with the team in certain delegated clinical therapy duties.
- To input data onto spreadsheets and run simple reports as requested e.g. for national audits and local reporting
- To ensure that clinical areas are maintained in a clean and tidy condition
- To be responsible for ordering stock and non-stock supplies.
- Undertake duties to assist the Team as required.
Communication
- To develop relationships with patients and carers who value them as individuals, communicating effectively to promote the patient’s goals.
- To use initiative and be responsible for clear communication of patients’ health status to the team lead/s.
- To actively maintain the patients’ notes so they are complete and accurate in line with legal requirements.
- To ask for support from the team lead/s when interactions with staff or service users become complex. Responsibility for Research
- To collect data and submit it as part of the service requirements for audit. Education and Training Responsibilities
- To undertake mandatory training in line with Trust policy.
- To participate in annual appraisal and Personal Development Review. Strategic and Service Responsibilities
- To attend team /service meetings /in service training and contribute when appropriate. Organisational/Administrative Responsibilities
- To be responsible for efficient and effective planning and organisation of own time
Qualifications
Education, qualifications & training (Essential)
- Good literary and numeric skills
- Ability to undertake training to acquire the skills appropriate for development in the post
- Desirable
- Level (3) NVQ or equivalent
Experience (essential)
- Previous caring experience of working in health or social care environment
Desirable
- Previous NHS/Social care /Voluntary organisation experience
