Position: Healthcare Assistant

Salary: £11.44 to £12.00 per hour

About the Role

Holmside Care Home is dedicated to providing exceptional care for residents with learning disabilities. They are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team(female) . The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents, supporting their individual needs, and promoting their independence.

Main Duties

  • Personal Care: Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Support: Provide emotional and social support to residents, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.
  • Activities: Help plan and participate in activities and outings to promote engagement and social interaction.
  • Health Monitoring: Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health and well-being to senior staff.
  • Meal Assistance: Assist residents with eating and drinking, ensuring their dietary needs are met.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any incidents or concerns promptly.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other care staff to ensure a high standard of care is maintained.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in a care role, preferably with individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) are desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a caring nature.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Compliance: Understanding of and adherence to health and safety guidelines, safeguarding policies, and care regulations.
