Position: Healthcare Support Worker

Salary: £29,485 to £31,088 a year

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 3, Health Care Assistant to work within the Community Cardiac Service. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys providing excellent care and ensure patients are always put first.

We want someone who wants to learn and develop. The post holder will be based on one of our community sites but will rota around all community sites as per staffing level requirements.

The applicant will have experience in working within cardiology or a fast paced, high volume service and will need to be able to perform basic cardiac tests such as ECG. Working in an outpatient setting would be an advantage. The applicant will require good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

The successful applicant will be given appropriate training for other diagnostics carried out in the community.

Main Duties

  • To support a multi-disciplinary specialist team in delivering delegated care to patientswithin cardiology.
  • Assist in the provision of care to patients, being supported and supervised by aregistered nurse.
  • To provide aspects of personal healthcare as directed and delegate by the multiprofessionalteam
  • To support the provision and delivery of health care and health promotion advice inorder that patients are informed and empowered to make appropriate health choicesto support their independence
  • Carry out assigned duties which maintain hygiene, orderliness and safety of theward/department environment.
  • To be flexible in working practices and areas.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good numeracy.
  • Health Care Assistant experience and knowledge appropriate for banding
  • Level III NVQ in Care or equivalent experience

Skills (Essential)

  • Ability to work with people
  • Can discuss and apply knowledge and experience to patient care.
  • Able to use technology and equipment to assist in patient care.
  • Able to carry out assigned task effectively in a busy, ever changing environment.
