Abbeyrose Court Community Care Ltd is seeking compassionate and reliable Home Care Assistants to support individuals within the St Helens area of Merseyside. Previous experience in home care or care home settings is desirable but not essential, as comprehensive training is provided to ensure confidence and competence in the role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for effective engagement with service users and accurate record keeping. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are preferred to support community-based visits. Job Summary

Abbeyrose Court Community Care is a new home care provider based in St Helens, Merseyside, who are aiming to provide the highest quality, person-centred care in the area.

As we are just launching our service, we want to be open and transparent that we cannot guarantee a set number of hours immediately. Work will build steadily as our client base grows, and we fully expect to offer guaranteed hours in the near future as the service develops.

Joining us at this early stage is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates. You will be part of shaping a new care service from the ground up, with excellent potential for development, progression, and taking on new responsibilities as the company expands, should you wish.

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Home Care Workers to support adults in their own homes—helping them maintain independence, dignity, and wellbeing through personal care, daily living assistance, and meaningful companionship.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care support, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
  • Assist with medication and basic health monitoring
  • Support clients with meal preparation, hydration, and light housekeeping
  • Encourage independence by involving clients in daily routines where possible
  • Maintain accurate care plans and record any changes, concerns, or observations promptly
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Escort or drive clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, or social activities where required
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and safeguarding protocols to ensure client wellbeing at all times

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in home care or care home settings is desirable but not essential – full training is provided
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow care plans accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Basic IT skills to maintain accurate digital records and documentation
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in supporting others
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends
