Position: Human Resources Assistant

About the Role
As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the HR function by assisting with a wide range of administrative tasks which include being responsible for carrying out recruitment processes, conducting statutory checks, onboarding new employees, managing employee wellbeing initiatives, and providing administrative support to the wider HR team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR career with full training and support provided.
Main Duties
- Recruitment Support: Assist with posting job adverts, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and coordinating onboarding processes for new hires.
- Statutory Checks: Ensure compliance by carrying out right-to-work checks, reference checks, and safeguarding measures for all new employees.
- Employee Wellbeing: Help implement and support wellbeing initiatives, including mental health support and employee engagement activities for a fully remote team.
- HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and other HR documentation using the google Suite and HR software.
- Communication: Act as a point of contact for HR-related queries from employees, providing clear and helpful guidance in a timely manner.
- Problem Solving: Assist in resolving employee issues, and escalating complex cases to the Head of HR where necessary.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth running of HR processes and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Previous administrative experience, ideally in HR or recruitment
- Knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and confidence in engaging with a remote team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in dynamic situations
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
Desirable
- Familiarity with statutory compliance and safeguarding checks
- Experience working in a fully remote team
