We are currently seeking a dynamic Data Analyst to join our team. Your analytical expertise will be crucial in identifying solutions to improve healthcare processes and drive quality within our team.
We are looking for an individual with: Knowledge of IT tools/systems such as SQL and Power BI. The ability to interpret highly complex informatics concepts and guidance and communicate them clearly to a range of people. Track record of delivering high quality work in demanding timescales and managing resources effectively.
Main Duties
- Responsible for producing high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations using various data sources. This includes workforce intelligence reports for Chief Executives and the Welsh Government.
- The role involves coordinating data returns from Health Boards and Trusts, communicating complex statistical information, analysing data anomalies, and providing datasets to stakeholders.
- Key responsibilities include delivering performance information, trend analysis, benchmarking, and intelligence modelling to support business needs.
- The role requires developing training materials, delivering training on workforce dashboards, and promoting data and analytics culture within HEIW.
- The analyst will also be responsible for designing and implementing data audits, analysing data errors, and continually improving information products.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Knowledge (Essential)
- Relevant Degree or equivalent level of knowledge and work experience
- Knowledge of IT, computing, relational database systems.
Desirable
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel & DAX
- Forming queries in SQL from complex data sets.
- Knowledge of the ESR system and all its functionalities
- Expertise in the interpretation of ESR National Workforce Datasets, e.g. occupational codes, staff groups, job roles, pay grades, area of work etc.
Experience (Essential)
- Administrative experience
- Answering information requests
- Finding and reporting data quality issues.
- Experience of Power BI.
- Manipulation of large amounts of raw complex data to be used in the preparation of reports.
- Good organisational skills and can work without supervision using initiative.
