Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced IT Delivery and Support Technician to join its technology services team in Nottinghamshire. This hybrid role offers a balance of on-site and remote working, supporting the delivery and maintenance of reliable IT services across council operations.

The IT Delivery and Support Technician is responsible for managing small to medium-sized IT projects, including software and hardware upgrades and the relocation of office IT equipment. The role requires hands-on experience in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting client devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices, in line with user and organisational requirements.

A proactive approach is essential, with the ability to identify areas requiring maintenance, improvement, or additional technical support. This position is well suited to IT professionals who enjoy problem-solving, project delivery, and providing dependable technical support within a structured public sector environment.

About the Role

The role is an integral part of the team, responsible for guiding equipment procurement and actively contributing to the build, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of PCs, laptops, thin clients, mobile devices, telephony systems, and data networks.

The primary objective is to ensure that new IT hardware, software, and network installations, as well as projects and service requests, are delivered efficiently and in alignment with internal customer requirements.

Additionally, the role involves providing onsite support by troubleshooting device, software, and network issues within an enterprise environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven hands-on experience in managing small to medium IT projects, including software and hardware upgrades, as well as office IT equipment relocations.
  • Skilled in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting client devices — such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices — according to customer specifications.
  • Proactive in identifying areas requiring maintenance and support, ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably, and processes are fit for purpose.
  • Experienced in administering Microsoft SCCM and Intune, leveraging these tools to manage hardware and software assets effectively.
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and maintain up-to-date workloads, while keeping customers informed on the status of requests and incidents.
