Full job description

Spinal Homecare is looking for experienced (preferred) Live-in Carers to deliver specialised spinal cord injury care and support for our clients.

Our clients live in their own homes or independent accommodations.

As a Carer (sometimes called a Personal Assistant), you will help the client maintain an independent and fulfilling lifestyle. This involves personal care, mobility assistance, and support with travel, daily routines, activities of daily living, and mobility needs. Specific duties will be outlined in the Client’s care plan and daily activities. Some clients have pets (cats or dogs) for companionship. You must be a confident driver, as you may need to assist clients with transportation to work, gym, local visits, or appointments.

To help you succeed, we provide thorough training to equip you for your caregiving role. The next residential training course is scheduled for 24th November at our head office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discreet and respectful personal care support, including bowel and bladder management
  • Assistance with mobility and daily routines
  • Accompanying clients to work and social events
  • Supporting with trips within the UK and abroad
  • Helping clients manage their time and energy for work and social activities
  • Domestic responsibilities, cooking, cleaning, hoovering, washing, ironing, etc
  • Being a calm, capable, tidy, and considerate presence

Are you a:

  • Confident, proactive, and adaptable individual with excellent organisational skills?
  • While experience is not necessary, a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Possessing a strong sense of discretion and emotional intelligence.
  • Committed to working on a rotational basis, such as 2 weeks on and 1 or 2 weeks off.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Holding a FULL driving licence and willing to travel, enjoying a varied routine.
  • Having the right to work in the UK.
  • Relevant spinal cord care experience is preferred but not essential
  • Dedicated to providing quality live-in care.
  • Treats others with dignity and respect.
  • Able to work independently within a busy environment.
  • Willing to travel (expenses covered).
