Position: Mental Health Support Worker

Salary: £12.40 – £14.20 per hour

Winsome care is recruiting mental health support workers with guaranteed hours in the Manchester area!

As a Mental Health Support Worker in a supported living environment, you will provide person-centred support to individuals with mental health needs, promoting their independence and well-being. You will assist residents in their daily activities, support their recovery journey, and help them achieve their personal goals within a safe and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalized Support: Assist residents with daily living tasks, which can including , meal preparation, personal care, trips to the park and household chores, tailored to individual needs.
  • Emotional Assistance: Offer empathetic support to help residents manage their mental health conditions, fostering resilience and coping strategies.
  • Care Planning: Participate in developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage and facilitate residents’ participation in community activities to promote social inclusion.
  • Advocacy: Support residents in expressing their needs and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard in care decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Health and Social Care experience .
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions.

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
