We have an opportunity for experienced Night Care Assistant to join our lovely staff team here at Stallingborough Lodge Nursing Home in Stallingborough, DN41 8AF, a GOOD CQC home.
The posts available are full time or part time between 22 – 44 hours although this can be negotiated if necessary.
The job role involves the day to day care of our service user, helping with all parts of their daily routine.
Full training and induction is provided.
The role will cover the following:
- To practice safe standards of personal and nursing care to service users as prescribed within individual care plans, ensuring that independence is not compromised.
- Work as part of a team to ensure that all care given is to the highest standard and all charts are accurately completed.
- To be able to meet the physical and educational demand of the role.
- To abide by Company Policies and Procedures and be aware of and conform to Care Quality Commission standards and the code of conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social workers in England (Skills for care)
- To show the ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training to develop as a carer.
- To attend training sessions as arranged and participate in the Company Supervision and Appraisal systems.
- To wear uniform correctly.
- To maintain good relations and effective communication with other staff, service users, visitors to the Home and other Health Care Professionals.
- To participate in activities aimed at the enjoyment of service users.
- To respect the dignity, privacy, rights and choice of all service users in the Home.
- To ensure service users’ rooms and living areas are comfortably tidy according to the wishes of the Resident.
- To participate in quality assurance strategies.
- To attend staff meetings.
- To ensure that the laundry continues to operate in the absence of the laundry staff.
- To record any care you are responsible for in the service users’ notes.
- To obtain consent prior to giving care or treatment.
- To undertake safe transfer/escort of service user between settings e.g. hospital appointments.
- To answer call bells as necessary and deal with requirements from service users.
- To offer support to both service users and their family members as required.
- To read the Care Plan of each service user to promote continuity of care.
- To understand and respect the service user’s rights to confidentiality.
- To be aware of the Health and Safety policy and report all potential hazards immediately.
- To provide care in accordance with the infection control policy and actively contribute to reducing the spread of infection in the home.
