Role Overview
As a part-time bookkeeper at HiThrive, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional bookkeeping services tailored to our clients’ unique needs. Your meticulous approach and expertise in Xero will ensure that every financial transaction is accurate, every deadline is met, and every client feels supported.

Roles and Responsibilities
Data Input and Management
- Input purchase invoices and receipts using Hubdoc, ensuring accuracy and proper attribution to the correct nominal accounts.
- Verify VAT rates and breakdowns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records for assigned clients, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Input purchase invoices and receipts using Hubdoc, ensuring accuracy and proper attribution to the correct nominal accounts.
Bank Reconciliation
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and recorded transactions.
- While most bank feeds are automatically imported, some require manual import. This process involves working with CSV files, carefully manipulating the data to ensure it is formatted correctly and can be seamlessly imported into Xero. Attention to detail is crucial to prevent errors and maintain the accuracy of financial records.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Process invoices and payments accurately and on time, adhering to agreed-upon terms.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding client payments, maintaining positive relationships and resolving billing discrepancies.
Payroll Administration
- Accurately process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including holiday and sick leave balances, with a focus on confidentiality and data security.
HMRC Filing and Reporting
- Monitor key deadlines and ensure all regulatory filings to HMRC are accurate and submitted on time.
- Provide clients with VAT, PAYE, and CIS information, along with prompt reminders for on-time payments.
Client Communication and Support
- Build and maintain strong communication channels with clients, ensuring responsiveness and professionalism.
- Address client enquiries and provide exceptional customer service, resolving issues promptly and effectively.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience in bookkeeping with a strong knowledge of Xero.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in a timely manner, meeting deadlines and managing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Professional bookkeeping qualification.
- Experience in payroll.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel.
- Previous experience working with Hubdoc or Dext.
