We are a growing accountancy and bookkeeping business based in West Yorkshire, looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join on a part-time basis. This role is fully remote, with the possibility of occasional in-person meet-ups if local (optional).

We offer flexible employment options – either as a freelance contractor or under a contract of employment, depending on your preference.

About the Role:

Duties

  • Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero and other accounting softwares (essential)
  • Bank reconciliations and transaction processing
  • Managing sales and purchase ledgers, invoicing, and payments
  • Preparing VAT returns and supporting with month-end accounts
  • Liaising with clients to gather or clarify financial information

What We’re Looking For:

  • Xero experience is essential
  • Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally across multiple clients
  • Familiarity with other cloud accounting platforms (e.g. QuickBooks, FreeAgent – desirable)
  • High level of accuracy and organisation
  • Confident working independently and managing deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional, discreet, and trustworthy

Desirable:

  • AAT qualified or equivalent
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice
