Part-Time Bookkeeper (Remote) – Precision Build

Job Summary

We are a growing domestic construction company based in Brighton (extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments etc) with an annual turnover estimated of £700k+. We are looking for a reliable and experienced part-time bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day finances and support our continued growth.

Duties

  • Manage and maintain the organisation’s financial records using accounting software such as Xero.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries as required by management.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Support year-end audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Maintain organised filing systems for all financial documents.
  • Manage purchase invoices, receipts, and supplier payments.
  • Raise sales invoices and track payments.
  • Log income and expenditure for VAT returns.
  • Manage CIS returns and subcontractor payments.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment in construction.
  • Proficiency in accounting software including Xero is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel for spread sheets.
  • Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable but not essential.
