About the Borough

The London Borough of Hounslow presents itself as an attractive locale for both residential and professional life. It boasts extensive stretches of rivers, canals, nature reserves, and open spaces, contributing to its notable appeal.

The borough is home to some of London’s most picturesque parks and open spaces, further enhanced by five historic houses and landscaped gardens: Syon House, Osterley Park, Chiswick House, Boston Manor, and Hogarth’s House, the former residence of the 18th-century satirist.

Encompassing 23 square miles, extending from Heathrow Airport in the west to Chiswick in the east, Hounslow stands as one of London’s most diverse boroughs, seamlessly blending urban and rural environments. Modern housing estates, tranquil suburbs, green belt villages like Heston, and vibrant, cosmopolitan districts such as Chiswick coexist within its boundaries.

Hounslow prides itself on being a genuine community of communities, recognized as one of the UK’s most culturally diverse areas, with a population of approximately 300,000 residents.

The borough is a thriving hub for business, a fact attributed to its exceptional transport infrastructure. The A4 and M4 motorways traverse the area, complemented by eight London Underground stations and seven mainline railway stations.

Hounslow’s strategic location is a significant advantage, and its proximity to London’s Heathrow Airport solidifies its position as London’s international gateway.
