Overview
Glenholme Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join the team at Shakespeare House in Bedford, a specialist supported living service for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and complex needs.
This role focuses on helping individuals maintain independence, develop life skills, and enjoy meaningful, fulfilling lives. Prior experience in learning disabilities and challenging behaviour is required, and full training is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with daily living tasks, including personal care, cooking, and medication
- Encourage independence and skill-building

- Keep accurate care records and contribute to care plans
Training, Pay Progression & Development
- £12.25 starting rate, increasing to £12.35 upon completing (or if you already hold) the Care Certificate
- Further increases to £12.45 with an NVQ Level 2 (or once completed)
- Paid Care Certificate and NVQ qualifications
- Up to £200 compensation for completing e-learning before start
