Baguley Pharmacy in Manchester is seeking a qualified and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our growing, service-led community pharmacy. This is a clinically driven role with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality NHS and private services.

We are offering UK Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for the right candidate; however, applicants must already be a fully qualified and registered Pharmacist with the GPhC.

Duties

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with medical orders and legal requirements
  • Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
  • Monitor patient responses to medication therapies and adjust treatments as necessary in collaboration with healthcare professionals
  • Maintain comprehensive records of prescriptions dispensed and patient interactions in compliance with data protection regulations
  • Assist in medication inventory management, including stock checks and reordering to ensure availability of essential drugs
  • Educate patients on health conditions and medication adherence to promote optimal health outcomes
  • Collaborate with medical staff to develop personalised treatment plans based on individual patient needs
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Clinical Services Delivery

Provide a full range of NHS services, including:

  • Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS)
  • New Medicine Service (NMS)
  • Structured Medication Reviews (where applicable)
  • Hypertension Case Finding
  • Smoking Cessation Services
  • Seasonal vaccination programmes (flu, COVID-19)

Deliver private services such as:

  • Travel health consultations and vaccinations
  • Weight management programmes
  • Private prescribing (if qualified)
  • Health screening (cholesterol, diabetes risk)

Patient Care

  • Provide expert clinical advice and medicine counselling
  • Support patients with minor ailments and long-term conditions
  • Promote health and wellbeing through proactive engagement
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and confidentiality

Dispensing & Operations

  • Ensure safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing
  • Maintain compliance with GPhC standards and SOPs
  • Support day-to-day pharmacy operations
  • Supervise and support pharmacy team members

Service Development

  • Support and expand clinical service delivery
  • Contribute to business growth and patient satisfaction
  • Work towards service targets and KPIs

Requirements Essential (Must Have)

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Eligible to work in the UK under Skilled Worker visa (sponsorship available)
  • Strong clinical knowledge and patient-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and consultation skills
  • Ability to deliver NHS pharmacy services confidently

Important Note for Sponsorship Applicants

  • You must already hold GPhC registration
  • We do not sponsor pre-registration pharmacists or trainees

  • Independent Prescriber qualification (or willingness to train)
