Position: Project Manager

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year

About the Role

Are you an experience project manager? Have you worked in previous construction related schemes? Do you have an excellent knowledge of planning and construction regulations? This may be the job for you!

This new role will work in the Trust’s Capital Team to provide high quality project management for projects between £500,000 – £4 million.

You will have involvement from inception to commissioning and handover to the Maintenance Manager and /or the clinical service manager. You will significantly contribute to the management of the Trust’s multi-campus, multi-building estate and property portfolio.

You will design, specify and cost to an approved brief and to deliver a completed signed off scheme to agreed programmes on time, within budget, and to specification.

Main Duties

  • Assess and prepare service user briefs, identifying the service requirements, objectives to be achieved and Healthcare specific standards (HTMs and HBNs) to be met. Compile and obtain approval to a Project Initiation Document/brief.
  • Liaise with engineering Estates Officers, external consultants and other professionals as required to provide best value solutions.
  • Provide advice as required on construction related legislation including Firecode, Building Regulations, Planning Application Process, Equality Act, Construction Design and Management Regulations, Party Wall matters, and other relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Create appropriate project management structures and appoint project team members, ensuring thorough governance procedures are followed.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience (Essential)

  • Direct specific experience of construction project management including budget management over a wide range of values, from £500,000 – £4 million
  • Experience of planning and processing of construction related schemes

Desirable

  • Experience in implementing design principles relating to commercial premises and the production of schedules of work, specifications and Contract Preliminaries
  • Knowledge and Experience of Building Contracts, NEC or JCT.

Skills (Essential)

  • Possession of an up to date knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to all aspects of planning, construction and good working practices
  • A knowledge and understanding of the construction process and all aspects of new construction and refurbishment.

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Possession of a degree, preferably in Building Surveying or Construction or demonstration of equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Prince 2 Foundation & Practitioner
  • Corporate membership of appropriate professional body, IHEEM IMECHE, IEE, IIE RICS, RIBA CIOB, CIBSE etc.
