About Nesta’s Sustainable Future Mission

Our Sustainable Future mission focuses primarily on reducing carbon emissions from the UK’s homes. Working with and alongside a range of partners, we are developing, testing and investing in solutions that could speed up adoption of heat pumps and other low-carbon technologies, support households in using their existing heating systems more efficiently and help people across the income spectrum use energy more flexibly.

The Mission operates In line with the recommendations of the Climate Change Committee, the Government’s independent, statutory body that advises the UK and devolved governments on preparing for and adapting to the impacts of climate change.

The role

Using your outstanding skills and experience within the broadcast, digital and/ or arts & culture sector, you will primarily support the delivery and day-to-day running of the Greener Homes initiative, part of Nesta’s Sustainable Future mission.

You will work closely with the Head of Cultural Development, who is the project lead, as well as the Director of Creative Innovation, the Senior Creative Producer and Sustainable Future mission team project leads.

Passionate and driven by the potential of the arts to catalyse change, you will also support the Arts team to function efficiently and effectively, and where needed, support on other Programmes & projects the Practice is delivering. Setting and maintaining the highest standards, from concept to execution, for our organisation.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include

Project management of the Greener Homes initiative:

  • Oversee and arrange logistics for meetings, events and coordinating the taking of minutes where required.
  • Manage and track key project milestones, capture key data to ensure we accurately deliver against project schedules.
  • Act as first point of contact for the Greener Homes team, for Nesta staff and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries or directing them to the right people.
  • Collaborating with the financial, legal, programme management office and communications teams when required, helping to translate their requirements to the other members of the team.
  • Implement and continuously improve administrative processes within the Greener Homes project team and foster a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Track and monitor evidence relating to the project, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to obtain key data that will help us measure the success of the project
  • Be an active member of Nesta’s community of programme and project managers, contributing to or owning the development of Nesta’s programme and project management processes and ways of working.

Creative content Development:

  • Support the production of broadcast & digital content
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of high-calibre TV/Digital projects that support our mission goal
  • Write and assess creative briefs to ensure creative content reaches a wide audience and aligns with Greener Homes objectives
  • Work closely with our Communications team, to plan content launches and manage the development of Greener Homes assets e.g the Greener Homes Handbook.

What we offer

Salary: £36,400-£50,000 pro-rata plus array of benefits, including health cash plans, dental insurance, the ability to buy and sell annual leave, eyecare vouchers and more

Location: This role is based in Blackfriars, Central London, with a hybrid working arrangement. Nesta’s policy is for staff to spend a minimum of two days a week in the office with the remaining days at your discretion.

Term: 1 year fixed term contract

Hours: This is a part-time role of 2-3 days a week. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and encourage our people to take advantage of them. Many do.
