Position: Quantitative Analyst

Salary: £41,000 to £46,000

 Job Type: Full Time

Location: Slough/York, UK (Hybrid or Remote)

About the Role

As a Quantitative Analyst at NFER, you will shape and design research and evaluation projects that address pressing education policy and practice questions. Your work will involve working with primary data and analysis of secondary datasets, contributing to both UK and international education and development initiatives.

Main Duties

  • Lead the quantitative elements of mixed methods research projects, ensuring the analysis addresses research questions and client interests.
  • Manage small to medium-sized quantitative research and evaluation projects through their lifecycle, overseeing progress, risk, budget, and quality outputs.
  • Prepare, share, and quality-check reports and other outputs for various audiences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, managing relationships and addressing issues promptly.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative research and analysis solutions, and support the proposal development process.
  • Represent NFER at external meetings, conferences, and events, promoting our research and gaining insights into market and methodological developments.

Qualifications

  • A degree with a strong focus on quantitative approaches (e.g., economics) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience applying quantitative research and evaluation methods to education, social policy, and/or international development.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, or R) and MS Excel.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience drafting reports and publications.
