CompoCloset Ltd is looking for a customer-focused and tech-savvy Customer Service Representative to join the team remotely. If you have 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role—especially in e-commerce or the outdoor/van life space—this could be the perfect opportunity.
Strong written communication skills, clarity, and empathy are essential, along with confidence in using technology. Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing excellent customer experiences and helping customers navigate innovative solutions.
About CompoCloset
CompoCloset was founded in 2020 during covid after the CEO, Richard, had been impressed by the composting toilet in his campervan, yet was also dissatisfied by it’s design.
CompoCloset was born with the belief that more people would use a composting toilet if they were better. Since learning of the Global Sanitation Crisis we still share that belief, but the scale of our mission and vision has changed.
Position: Customer Service Representative
Salary: £12.70 per hour
Job Type: Part Time
Location: Remote
About the Role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Representative to be the friendly and knowledgeable voice of CompoCloset. In this role, you’ll assist customers with product inquiries, troubleshooting, orders, and general support through email, chat, and social media. A key part of this role will be helping customers with technical troubleshooting for our Cuddy composting toilets, so if you’re mechanically inclined, that’s a big plus!
What You’ll Do
- Respond to customer inquiries via email, chat, and social media in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist customers with product selection, troubleshooting, and order-related questions.
- Provide technical support for Cuddy, helping customers troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and installation-related issues.
- Guide customers through DIY fixes or escalate issues when necessary.
- Process returns, replacements, and refunds according to company policies.
- Work closely with our logistics and product teams to resolve shipping or product issues.
- Maintain and update our internal customer support documentation.
- Identify common customer concerns and provide feedback to help improve our products and services.
- Engage with our community by answering questions and sharing knowledge on forums and social media.
What We’re Looking For
- Legal Right to Work in the UK – You must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
- Experience in Customer Service – At least 1-2 years in a customer-facing role (bonus if it’s in e-commerce or the outdoor/van life space).
- Excellent Communication Skills – You’re clear, concise, and empathetic in written communication.
- Comfortable with Technology – You can quickly learn and use different digital tools, such as email platforms, customer support software, and e-commerce systems. Experience with online customer service tools is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Mechanically & Technically Inclined (Bonus!) – Experience with electrical, installation, or mechanical troubleshooting is a huge plus, as you’ll be helping customers solve Cuddy technical issues. If you can confidently guide someone through fixing a fan, replacing a component, or troubleshooting a battery connection over email or chat, we want to hear from you!
- Problem-Solving Mindset – You love finding solutions and helping people get the best out of their products.
- Passion for Sustainability & Adventure – Our customers are outdoor enthusiasts, van-lifers, and eco-conscious travelers—if you share their passion, you’ll fit right in!
- Self-Starter & Team Player – You’re proactive, organized, and comfortable working remotely or in a small, dynamic team.
Why Join Us?
- Be Part of an Innovative Brand – Help shape the future of portable toilets and sustainable living.
- Room to Grow – We’re a small but growing company, so there are plenty of opportunities to expand your role.
